Thursday night's Business with Beauty and Style event, put on by Souny West and the ladies of W Salon, featured a fashion show styled by Stara Pezeshkian (Stara Glam) demonstrating ways to remediate the plague of dull suits and dresses that are oft found in the average DC workplace. One of my favorite looks was a fresh white suit amped up with nautical gold accessories and a Just Cavalli belt. I also loved the ingenious simplicity of a classic shift dress kept from looking snoozeworthy with the added touch of a Fendi scarf and chunky lucite necklace. I wore a brown suit paired with a sheer floral blouse and topped off with a vintage chapeau, which reminded me of a clam/starfish hybrid residing on my head in some sort of symbiotic sartorial relationship. All of this, of course, reinforced the fact that accessories really make an outfit. Here's to more "fashionformative" events like this in the DMV; together we will abolish frumpiness, one pantsuit at a time!
